La Mancha Gallery artist and professional photographer Richard M. Smith will be hosting a seminar on The Art Of Digital Photography. Richard will share a stunning selection of his photography around Los Angeles and elsewhere along with the stories behind the selected artworks. The lecture also includes techniques on how to create stunning photos. Smith is a former photographer of the Tri-City Voice Newspaper in Fremont, California. This event is FREE, and space is very limited and in high demand. We Hope to see you there!

La Mancha Gallery is honored to be hosting the Arts Pavilion at
the 21st Annual Central Avenue Jazz Festival!
The Central Avenue Jazz Festival returns on July 30 & 31st, 2016 from 11-7PM at the South Central section of Los Angeles between 42nd and 43rd Streets in front of the historic and newly renovated Dunbar Hotel. This celebration of community arts and music is an event that celebrates the rich cultural history of Los Angeles Central Avenue vibrant jazz scene since the 1930’s.
At the invitation of 9th District Los Angeles City Councilman Curren D. Price, Jr., Councilman at the 9th District Of Los Angeles, thousands of Angelenos will gather on July 30 & 31 at the Vernon-Central neighborhood of South Los Angeles to enjoy a free celebration of Community, Vibrant Music and Contemporary Art.
La Mancha Gallery will be hosting for the 3rd year in a row The Arts Pavilion during the festival. A 30’x60′ foot tent that will house cutting-edge art from top artists in Los Angeles as well as live muralists and a “John Coltrane Chapel” art installation. Curated by Omar Holguin the selected artwork ranging from all sizes and mediums will include a live painting presentation by renown muralist and artist EnkOne, a “John Coltrane Chapel” art installation by artist Donald Frazell, Mexican Artist Xavier Yarto, the magnificent fully functional cardboard sculptures of Ron Zeno and talented artists like Kevin T. Williams, Alexander Sedoyan, Darren Smith-Robinson, Sly Fabu and many, many more. The art installation by Stephen M. Gates will be set against the backdrop aesthetic of black tubes, colorful hats and lampshades with white trees accents. Directly across from the historic Dunbar Hotel, the beautifully-restored mecca for jazz legends of the l930’s and l940’s, Virtually all of the artists represented had personal and emotional connections to the neighborhood and the African-American jazz culture which had flourished there in decades past. Many artists participating have achieved widespread recognition, even worldwide acclaim.

Call For Artists & Vendors!
Our good friends at the Altadena Library will be having a Latino Cultural Arts Festival with live music, artists, authors, local food and drinks! They are looking to showcase 30 or more Latino Artists and craftsmen who would like to display and sell their work @ the Library from 1:00 pm to Dark. The booth fee is $25 and you must provide your own table/tent/display. There is no other fee or commission to participate. They expect to have over 500 visitors on that day and will be advertising and promoting the event heavily.

ENVISION, the closing celebration for VisionLA Fest ’15!
Join us as we celebrate the inaugural 12 day Arts Festival, applaud the artists and producers who have presented work at VisionLA Fest, and award local leaders for their passionate stewardship of our environment.
Awardees include Nurit Katz – Chief Sustainability Officer for UCLA and Romel Pascual – Executive Director of CicLAvia!
L.A.’s Poet Laureate Luis J. Rodriguez will kick the evening off at 8:00 with an original piece. DJ Jedi will provide a soundscape before and after a special 50 minute installation dance / concert from Los Angeles based String Theory Productions – just for us!
Enjoy food from Mama’s Hot Tamales ,open bars serving wine and L.A.’s own DRY RIVER BREWERY beer, all included with the price of admission.
This ZERO WASTE, OUTDOOR event is hosted by Arts Earth Partnership – authors of the first state-recognized arts and cultural green business certification program in the world, based right here in Los Angeles.

Activist & Environmental Poetry
VisionLA ’15 Climate Action Arts Festival and Beyond Baroque present Words to Save the World, poetry and prose readings of work on an environmental theme, with many pieces especially written or commissioned by the VisionLA Fest.

Griffin, Jibon Hester, Camille Jacome, Nocholas Johnson, LaLow, Darrell Larson, Roberto Leni, Leon Martell, Luis Ordaz, Christy Ramirez, Rose Rteimeh, Beth Ruscio, Mike “The Poet” Sonksen and Heather Woodbury.
This FREE event will seek to uplift and inspire, not complain or engender anger and despair. Together we can imagine ourselves out of this mess, and write the new foundation.
